You Catch Yourself Asking Permission to Think
The fear, shame, and self-doubt can stay long after you’ve physically left
Online Cult Recovery Coaching for People Leaving High-Control Groups
- Religious abuse, spiritual manipulation, and cult involvement
- You set the pace and choose the direction
- Your beliefs stay yours to decide
- Draws on trauma-informed principles and somatic awareness
Leaving Was Only the Beginning
A friend asks, “Why didn’t you leave a long time ago?” You start to explain, then stop, because the answer would take an hour and they’d still look puzzled.
But you wonder, if you couldn’t see it then, how can you trust what you see now?
That doubt is what follows you.
You’re still second-guessing your instincts.
Feeling Trapped, Years After Leaving
You have words for it now. But the reflexes are still there.
A decision requires permission nobody is there to give.
Your gut speaks up, and you overrule it out of habit.
Knowing you’re out and feeling free are two separate things. That gap is where we begin.
Coercive Control Trains How You Think About Yourself
Your self-doubt was built to serve someone else’s rules.
The group’s rules moved into your own judgment.
Every thought got checked against the rules before you let yourself trust it.
Leaving removed the group. But the thought-checker is still working overtime.
In our work, we’ll start with that habit: rebuilding confidence in your own perceptions, and learning to make decisions without fear of punishment or rejection.
Coaching That Rebuilds Your Self-Trust
Sessions focus on rebuilding confidence in your own perceptions. My role is to walk alongside you as you rediscover your own voice.
- Trust a first instinct without running it past anyone
- Set boundaries with family and old community members
- Grieve what was lost, including the person you were
- Make decisions without bracing for punishment or rejection
The aim is a life that reflects your own values rather than someone else’s.
How our work unfolds
Untangle What Happened
I help you see the larger patterns that kept you trapped, and how each one worked on you.
Process Its Impact
Fear, shame, and grief over what was lost get full attention, and the work draws on mindfulness and somatic awareness.
Trust Yourself and Take Control
Values, boundaries, and everyday decisions get sorted, keeping what’s yours and setting down what belonged to someone else’s expectations.
Why Trust Me with Your Healing Path
Focused on High-Control Environments
My focus is recovery from a church, meditation group, self-help organization, New Age community, or any other high-control environment.
Your Pace, Your Direction
Trauma-informed principles shape each of our sessions, so you set the pace and choose the direction.
No Destination Prescribed
Whether you keep your faith, leave it, or land somewhere in between, what you believe is yours to decide.
What does coaching add beyond talking with friends?
Coaching centers on the pattern itself, how the group shaped your judgment and how to rebuild it. Your experience is taken as real from the first minute.
What if my group wasn’t religious, or I left decades ago?
High control can happen in a meditation group, a self-help organization, or a New Age community, as well as a church. Recently out or carrying it for decades, you belong here.
Is there a set number of sessions?
There’s no fixed program. Every recovery journey is different because every story is different, so the length follows what you’re working through and the pace you set.
Will my family need to be involved?
This is one-on-one coaching, so it’s you and me. If family members minimize what happened, boundaries with them can become one of the threads you choose to work on.
Will you push me toward or away from faith?
My role isn’t to tell you what to believe. Some people stay religious. Others leave faith behind. Many find themselves somewhere in between. There is no “correct” destination.
The Life You’re Building Answers To You
This is for you if you’ve left a church, teacher, or community that ran your life, and you still check your thoughts against its rules.
Coaching is one-on-one, with no fixed program. You set the pace. You choose the direction.
Whenever you decide to begin, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
Sessions are billed directly, and costs are explained before the first consultation.
